How Free AI Girlfriend works

1. You pick a companion

Each of the five characters (see them all) is written by hand: name, age, job, city, backstory, interests, personality and a texting style. Every character is a fictional adult aged 21 or older. Profile photos are generated ahead of time on our own hardware and labeled as AI-generated; they do not depict or resemble real people.

2. You confirm you are an adult

The first time you chat, you confirm you are 18 or older and accept the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. No account is needed. Your chats are tied to an anonymous guest ID stored in your browser.

3. You send a message

Your message is checked first. Keyword rules and an AI safety classifier look for prohibited content such as anything involving minors, real people, non-consent, incest or bestiality. If the check can't run, the message is blocked rather than let through.

4. She writes a reply

Our server combines her character sheet, a summary of your earlier conversation and your recent messages, and sends that to a large language model, which writes her next message in character. The reply is checked again while it streams, so text that breaks the rules is never shown.

5. She remembers

Recent messages are kept in full. When a chat gets long, older messages are condensed into a running summary so she keeps track of what matters without forgetting the start. Each character has her own memory of your chat with her.

6. Free messages and paid plans

You get 20 free messages a day, reset daily, with no card. Optional monthly plans and credit packs are listed on the pricing page; payments are not open yet. See what the free tier includes.

What it doesn't do

• No voice calls or voice messages.
• No custom characters, no photo uploads and no on-demand image generation.
• No public posting: your chats aren't shown to anyone else.
• No real people. The characters are fiction.
